That free T-shirt you got from the last tradeshow you attended may be good for lounging around or mowing the lawn, but if you take that cotton shirt backpacking or trail running, you're going to end up with a wet, heavy and soggy mess of a shirt. With all the new materials out there these days, it's awesome to see a resurgence of natural materials. When people think of wool, they think of heavy and warm... but, they miss out on the fact that wool has great wicking properties and it's soft. The folks at Outdoor Research are stoked to bring the benefits of wool combined with new technology to give you a better Tee shirt. The Outdoor Research Sequence Tee is a simple tee shirt on the surface, but it's been well thought out. Using a combination of merino wool and polyester, this shirt is soft, comfortable and quick-drying. With subtle branding (small OR tag on the left sleeve), OR keeps it real without screaming "hey, I'm outdoorsy!" Yeah, it's a simple Tee shirt, but the material is outstanding for moisture wicking and all-day comfort. I've worn it on a couple of bike rides and on several trail runs. It stays cool, dry and comfortable even under high amounts of sweat. The Sequence Tee just seems to distribute and disperse the moisture really well. I've even worn the shirts all day as a casual shirt and I absolutely love how comfortable the fabric is and how nice it feels against the skin. The only comment I've got is to potentially order a size smaller than you might think. I typically wear a size Large, so that's what I got, but I think I could have worn a Medium instead--at least for running and biking. For casual wear, that might be too tight, so the Large is a good compromise. For your next outdoor adventure, trail run, mountain bike ride or backpacking trip, don't just grab your old tee shirt, get yourself a shirt that is comfortable, durable and quick-drying. The benefits of natural merino wool fibers combined with polyester makes the Outdoor Research Sequence Tee a great option in the backcountry or on the trail.
